What You Give, You Get Back—Multiplied
What you give to others is what you receive in return. If you give love, people will love you back. If you give hate, it will return to you—often ten times stronger.
Helping others is one of the purest forms of giving. Whether it's your loved ones, a family member, or a stranger on the street, when you help someone without expecting anything in return, that goodness has a way of finding its way back to you—often multiplied.
Over the years, I’ve worked in many different places. Today, I work for myself, writing blogs like this one. I didn’t leave my jobs because I was a bad employee—I left because I’m curious, a fast learner, and always ask:
“Can I do this job well?”
“Can I bring something meaningful here?"
“What can I learn that will help me grow?”
But often, within a week or two, someone at a new job asks me questions like:
“Do you feel accepted here?”
“Did anyone treat you badly?”
“What do you think about this person that others complain about?”
And my answer is always the same: “How can I know all that in one week?” I don’t go into jobs looking for what’s wrong. I go in looking to learn and grow.
My most recent job was at an elementary school. That was a big change for me. I had to learn quickly how to work with many children at once. Kids don’t care that you’re new—they need help, attention, and kindness. So I focused on building trust.
And here's what I learned: Building trust starts with one simple thing—telling the truth.
I gave the children respect, and most of the time, they gave it back. I loved them for who they were, and they returned that love.
That’s how the world works.
Like attracts like.
If you like someone, they will likely like you back.
If you love someone, love will return to you.
If you give out hate, hate will come back.
So the question is: What do you want to attract?
🔑 Key Takeaways
What you give out—love, hate, kindness—comes back to you multiplied.
Like attracts like. Want more love? Be more loving.
Life is too short to spread hate. Choose love.
Surround yourself with positive people and you’ll naturally become more positive.
💭 Final Thoughts
Be so kind that people can't ignore you.
Be so positive that it becomes contagious.
Give your best, and trust that the universe will give back even better.
